Once, on a shopping trip to Auch, my tummy started grumbling in the plane tree-lined avenue, Alsace Avenue, and I came across a place that I wouldn\u2019t have expected in foie gras country\u2026 the \u201cIsa & Cie<\/a>\u201d<\/strong> fast-food restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a discovery!<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I entered the snack bar, no denying, I was in a very slick place! The display case made my mouth water, the staff were friendly and the team super-efficient. The savoury tarts were tantalizing, I fell for a quiche and ordered a clafoutis for dessert. The proprietress let me choose between the terrace and an indoor table. I went upstairs and was enticed by a pretty trendy-looking room that was very calm in contrast with the bustling ground floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for my taste buds\u2026<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My gastronome\u2019s palate was delighted, everything was made \u201cin house\u201d. There was no doubt that they only used fresh produce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I perused the full menu: on the snack side: salads, soups, quiches and pizzas with seasonal recipes that change every week, desserts vying for decadence, \u2026. the bistro side caters for more demanding meal breaks with grilled meats, confit, or omelettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This restaurant is headed up by Isabelle, who has been an iconic figure of Auch catering since 2001. This authentic Gers woman knows how to create a setting and surround herself with energetic, devoted staff. Bruno, who officiates in the kitchen, has been a most loyal chef for many years now!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Feeling peckish<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To tell you the truth, the first time I stepped foot in \u201cIsa & Cie\u201d, it was to eat on the hoof. Since then I\u2019ve been returning out of sheer gluttony. I want to put in a plug for the \u201cpetit creux\u201d concept of the salted butter caramel crepe (and yes, the caramel is really made in their kitchen!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Cookies<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If you prefer to eat savoury, they serve the Gascon salad all day long to eat at the restaurant or you might take it out to the Ortholan garden benches or the nearby Gers embankment benches. Whatever happens, with \u201cIsa & Cie\u201d there\u2019s a treat in store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
